Orlando Pirates FC Store Reopens in Soweto
Orlando Pirates FC is returning to a familiar Soweto setting, with supporters set to see a change at one of the club's well-known locations. The Buccaneers have confirmed a Saturday event in Soweto, giving fans a date and venue to take note of.
The move comes as Pirates restore their retail presence at the venue, which has long been a gathering point for supporters. The announcement was made on Tuesday, 11 August, with the reopening taking place from 10:00.
Why the Soweto location matters
Orlando Pirates marketing manager Sindisiwe Khumalo-Sibisi said the decision to reopen the store at Orlando Amstel Arena reflected the club's longstanding connection with Soweto. She said the return was about more than retail, noting that the township continued to hold an important place in the club's history.
Retail Operations Manager Hunadi Sefoka similarly said the venue allowed Pirates to reconnect its retail presence with "where the story lives", while still catering for newer generations of supporters.
What fans need to know
Supporters planning to attend the Orlando Pirates Store reopening will need to register before making their way to the Orlando Amstel Arena. Complimentary tickets will be made available by the club, while registration details will be checked when fans arrive at the venue.
The event is scheduled to get underway at 10:00 on Saturday, 15 August, giving Pirates supporters the chance to visit the club's official store when it returns to its Soweto location.
